Teacher resigns after caught saying "conservative Christians need to get COVID and die"
COLLEYVILLE, Texas (WKRC/KTVT/CNN Newsource) – A Texas middle school teacher is out of a job after she was reportedly caught saying "conservative Christians need to get COVID and die."
The teacher's resignation comes after a video of her private conversation with colleagues in the hallway of Colleyville Middle School in Colleyville, Texas, was shared on social media, reports KTVT.
It's difficult to hear the whole conversation in the video, but the group could be heard blaming conservative Christians for the slow acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines.
The school district released a statement to families announcing the teacher's resignation and that her comments do not reflect the school's opinion, saying, "It is inexcusable to wish harm on those with whom we disagree."
