Time running out on controversial Ohio abortion ban legislation
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - Time's running out on controversial Ohio legislation that would ban abortions when a fetal heartbeat is detected.
Lawmakers on Thursday delayed a planned vote on the bill, raising doubt the Republican-controlled legislature will have enough time to pass it and override an expected veto by Gov. John Kasich.
Fetal heartbeats can be detected as early as six weeks before many women know they are pregnant. Similar abortion bans have been found unconstitutional in other states.
