Upscale Oakley restaurant to close

CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) - An upscale Oakley eatery that has been open for a dozen years will close at the beginning of next month.

Maribelle's Eat + Drink at 3235 Madison Road is closing its doors on May 6. The restaurant was sold to an undisclosed buyer, who intends to make an announcement later this week.

Owner Leigh Enderle opened Maribelle's on Eastern Avenue in 2006. She moved the restaurant to its current location in April 2012. She said she sold the restaurant to simplify her lifestyle. She is also the director of research at Sensation Research, a sensory consumer research firm in Mason.

Operating partner and executive chef Mike Florea said it came down to the fact that both he and Enderle had too much going on. Florea owns the Queen City Livestock Co. and is one of the owners and the chef of the upcoming craft distillery and restaurant Karrikin Spirits Co. in Fairfax, which is slated to open this fall.
