Walton Verona student hit by an SUV suffers life-threatening injuries

Walton Verona senior suffered life-threatening injuries (WKRC)

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - A senior at Walton Verona High School suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit by an SUV Wednesday morning. Hunter Donavan, 17, was rushed to UC Medical Center by medical helicopter.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said the driver was in the left lane on Mary Grubbs Highway at Town Center Boulevard at 6:50 a.m. when she hit Donovan, who was crossing the highway. Deputies say she had a green light.

The driver did stop and is cooperating with deputies. She wasn't hurt.

The intersection was closed for about two-and-half hours but has since reopened.
