JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK/CBS Newspath/WKRC) - A seven-year-old was in custody and charged with first-degree arson after setting their West Virginia house on fire while their parents were asleep.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department says two people received minor burns from the fire but everyone made it out of the house safely.
The department said the child intentionally set fire to the house, near the town of Elizabeth. The Facebook post did not name the child or the parents.
The stepfather of the child, 38-year-old Aaron Hufford, was arrested for child abuse of the same seven-year-old.
