CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Apple is issuing a repair program to address a manufacturing defect in some of the devices.

If you've been having issues with your iPhone 8 it may not be a coincidence.

Apple said the defect causes the phone to freeze or turn off unexpectedtly and in some cases won't turn back on.

The free repair program is for iPhone 8s sold between September 2017 and March 2018.

Apple will fix this defect for no charge.
