Grandma arrested for smuggling drugs into jail
MEMPHIS (WKRC) - A grandma in Memphis was arrested after trying to smuggle drugs into a prison to give to her grandson, according to a report by WHBQ.
Sarah Griffin, 68, said she thought she was bringing her grandson a cell phone, but the package she attempted to smuggle actually had meth, heroin and other drugs inside.
She was arrested and charged with attempting to bring contraband into a penal facility.
She spent three days in jail and faces a Class-E felony charge, which could land her up to six years in prison if convicted.
