MENDOCINO, Calif. (CNN/CNN Newsource) - A gas station in Mendocino, California is now charging nearly ten dollars a gallon.
According to GasBuddy, that officially makes it the most expensive gas in the country.
At Schlafer's Auto Repair, supreme unleaded was $9.91 a gallon on Saturday, while regular was $9.60.
Fortunately, prices at the small coastal town north of San Francisco is something of an outlier. GasBuddy shows most average prices in California a little over five dollars a gallon.
That's still not cheap, but about half the price of what motorists are paying in Mendocino.
