Police officer adopts boy he rescued from severe abuse
Oklahoma police officer Jody Thompson didn't know he was going to meet his future son when he was dispatched to investigate a severe case of child abuse.
"When I seen him. When I seen him in that house. ... I knew," Thompson told KFSM - TV.
Thompson took the boy from the home where he was starved, bound and forced to endure other atrocities. Thompson, in 2015, stayed with the boy at the hospital as he recovered. Sometime later, he made the adoption official.
Two years later, the boy is thriving in school, but the story doesn't end there, reports KFSM.
Turns out, the boy's biological mother also gave birth to a baby girl who the Thompson family welcomed with open arms.
