NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV/WKRC) - A Tennessee woman is facing federal charges for interfering with the flight crew on a Spirit Airlines flight to Nashville on November 27.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Tennessee announced the criminal complaint details charging 43-year-old Amanda Renee Henry. According to the complaint, Henry was on a flight from Fort Lauderdale when she became disruptive and appeared to be drunk. According to the complaint from Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, she made lewd advances at a male passenger.
Passengers sitting next to her asked to be moved from their seats and flight attendants asked her to move for everyone's safety since she was sitting next to an emergency exit. Henry refused to move, grabbing her carry-on bag and running to the front of the plane while screaming, "I'm getting off this plane."
A flight attendant blocked Henry from getting to the main cabin door and tried to restrain her. Henry reportedly kicked and hit the attendant and assaulted another by pulling hair as they tried to restrain her.
A passenger reportedly placed plastic flex cuffs around her feet in order to restrain her.
Henry was arrested by police once in Nashville. According to the affidavit, police asked Henry how much she had to drink. She reportedly responded with, "a lot." Henry then reportedly exclaimed, "What the f*** did I do wrong? I'm not drunk."
When being placed in the patrol car, Henry stiffened her legs to prevent the door from being closed, and reportedly yelled several times, "Shoot me, mother f*****."
She now faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
