BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WKRC) - A man was charged after hitting 100 mph with three kids in his backseat to get to Taco Bell, according to police.
Jevan Jackson, 22, was charged with reckless driving, driving without a license, and child neglect.
Palm Bay Police say Jackson was weaving in and out of lanes and almost got into a head-on collision with a dump truck.
According to reports, Jackson was caught going 100 mph in a 40 mph zone.
When he was pulled over, Jackson reportedly said that he was only going 75 mph. Jackson allegedly admitted that he was wrong to speed, but he claimed that he needed “to get his girlfriend to a job interview at Taco Bell.”
Police also say that there were three juveniles in the back seat while he was driving erratically, including one who wasn’t in the proper restraint system.
“Due to Jackson’s reckless driving pattern, he placed his three juvenile passengers in danger,” police said.
Jackson’s court arraignment is scheduled for mid-April.
