Ray Tensing wants his job back at UCPD

Union is resuming grievance to get Tensing's job back now that charges have been dismissed (UCPD)

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Former UC police officer Ray Tensing is trying to get his old job back.

Tensing was fired when he was charged with murder and voluntary manslaughter for shooting and killing Sam DuBose during a 2015 traffic stop. A grievance was filed.

Now that Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters has decided not to retry the case, Judge Leslie Ghiz dismissed the charges against Tensing with prejudice. That means he can't be tried again. So, the union that represents UCs police officers is resuming the grievance.

A UC spokesman has said in the past that the university has no intention of rehiring Tensing.
