Latest version of flying car can reportedly reach nearly 100 mph
SHANGHAI, China (WKRC/ENEX/SMG/CBS Newspath) - AeroMobil, a flying car made by the Slovak company of the same name, arrived in Shanghai on Thursday. It was transported in several wrapped boxes to avoid damage during the trip.
The vehicle was debuted in Monaco last year and this is its first trip to China. The one that arrived in Shanghai is the latest version, the AeroMobil 4.0 STOL, which features a short take-off and landing.
According to the developers, when on land the car is electric-powered and its top speed can reach nearly 100 miles per hour. The car is about 20 feet long and 5 feet high.
When the driver wishes to convert it into a plane, the doors will open for the wings to extend into place. It only takes about 3 minutes for it to transform into flight mode.
