Five starters don't participate in Thursday's Bengals practice; Titans practice report
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Five Bengals starters did not participate in practice on Thursday, including four who also didn't participate on Wednesday due to injury or illness.
The Bengals play at the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
The four who missed a second straight practice are: middle linebacker Kevin Minter (elbow); defensive tackle Pat Sims (right calf); running back Jeremy Hill (ankle) and kicker Randy Bullock (back).
The fifth starter who did not practice on Thursday after practicing on Wednesday is cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, who was sick.
Minter hasn't practiced since suffering the elbow injury in the Oct. 22 game at Pittsburgh.
Sims suffered his calf injury in the first quarter of the Jacksonville game and didn't return.
Hill wasn't on the injury report last week, but missed the Jacksonville game due to an ankle injury suffered in Saturday's walk-through practice, although Hill said the ankle had been bothering him for awhile.
Bullock was bothered by a back issue last week and was placed on the inactive list for the Jacksonville game because of the issue.
Safety Shawn Williams was a limited participant after not practice on Wednesday. Williams was bothered by a hamstring issue during practice last week, started this past Sunday's game at Jacksonville and then was taken out early due to the injury.
Wide receiver Tyler Boyd was a limited participant for a second straight practice and likely won't play until he can go through a full practice, which will probably be next week at the earliest. He suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Oct. 8 game against Buffalo and didn't return to practice until Wednesday.
Four other players were also limited participants on Thursday and were also limited participants on Wednesday: linebacker Vontaze Burfict (thigh); defensive lineman Michael Johnson (back); wide receiver Brandon LaFell (hamstring) and defensive end Chris Smith (ankle).
BROWNS SIGN SMITH OFF BENGALS PRACTICE SQUAD: The Bengals on Thursday signed tight end Scott Orndoff to the practice squad to fill a spot created by the departure of safety Derron Smith, who terminated his practice squad contract when he was signed by the Cleveland Browns..
This will be the second stint on the Bengals’ practice squad for Orndoff, a rookie from the University of Pittsburgh. He had been signed to the Bengals’ practice squad on Oct. 16 and was released from it on Tuesday to make room for Smith.
Orndoff originally signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a college free agent and spent time in the preseason with both the Steelers and the Detroit Lions.

- Did Not Practice: WR Eric Decker (illness); G Quinton Spain (toe); TE Delanie Walker (ankle).
