FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP/WKRC) - The New York Jets have signed free agent linebacker Kevin Minter.

Minter played for the Bengals last season, but spent his first four NFL seasons in Arizona, where his defensive coordinator was current Jets coach Todd Bowles in 2013 and 14. The Cardinals' 2013 second-round pick has 255 career tackles with five sacks covering 70 games.

The 27-year-old started seven games at middle linebacker for the Bengals in 2017 and made 32 tackles.

The Bengals signed Preston Brown as a free agent last month to replace Minter.
