CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The NFL free agency signing period doesn't officially begin until 4:01 p.m. on Wednesday, but teams have been able to begin negotiating deals since Monday and according to reports the Bengals are losing a key player and retaining another.

According to multiple different reports, the Detroit Lions are going to sign wide receiver Marvin Jones, while safety George Iloka is going to re-sign with the Bengals.

While Jones caught 65 passes for 816 yards and four touchdowns, re-signing Iloka was more important as the team's other starting safety Reggie Nelson is also a free agent. Ian Rapoport, National Insider for NFL Network and NFL.com, says it's a 5-year deal for $30 million, with $18 million over the first three years.

The Bengals now may target re-signing wide receiver Mohamed Sanu and take the money it saved by not signing Marvin Jones to re-sign cornerback Adam Jones.
