Thomas More's Gahan, an Oak Hills grad, earns softball All-America honor

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Thomas More College sophomore first baseman Andrea Gahan, who is an Oak Hills High School graduate, has been named to the NCAA Division III All-America Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Gahan was named to the second team after being named first team All-Central Region and first team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference. She is the third-ever and second-straight Thomas More softball player to be named to the NFCA All-America Team. Anna Walter was named third team All-American in 2014 and Alix DeDreu was named third team All-American in 2017.

Gahan played in 48 games this season and had a .442 batting average. Her 68 hits were the second most hits in a season in school history. She scored 42 runs and also recorded 14 doubles, two triples, and 16 home runs, which is the most home runs in a single season at Thomas More. Gahan drove in 53 runs, which is second most in a season in school history. She added 11 stolen bases and had a .980 fielding percentage.

Thomas More finished the season at 32-16 overall and recorded a 17-1 record in the PAC regular season. The Saints won the PAC regular season and championship tournament titles and made their ninth NCAA Tournament appearance and seventh under 10th-year head coach Lindsay Eagan.
