COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WKRC) - A 13-game starter a year ago, Michael Hill has been suspended for a "few" games, according to head coach Urban Meyer on Monday. The senior defensive tackle, who graduated Sunday and is in his fifth year of eligibility, will miss at least the opener at Indiana on August 31.

Meyer declined to discuss the specifics or characterize the nature of the suspension, though the defensive line is the Buckeyes' greatest strength going into the 2017 season. Meyer named at least five players who could pick up the slack for Hill including freshman Haskell Garrett.

Hill is the most experienced interior lineman on the team. He recorded 21 tackles in the 2016 season, three for a loss.

Ohio State is ranked No. 2 in the preseason coaches poll.
