PHOENIX, Ariz. (WKRC) - Phillip Ervin is making a case to be on the Opening Day roster for the Cincinnati Reds.
The outfielder hit a solo home run, his fourth in 12 games, in the team's 3-3 tie with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.
Sonny Gray held the Dodgers split-squad hitless over three perfect innings. He recorded one strikeout and has yet to allow a run through two Cactus League starts.
Michael Lorenzen gave up two runs-- one earned-- in two innings of relief. Zach Duke yielded a run in the sixth inning. But David Hernandez, Raisel Iglesias and Wandy Peralta each pitched a scoreless frame to keep the Dodgers at three runs.
Cincinnati improved to 5-10 this spring.
