CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Reds placed Devin Mesoraco on the 3-day paternity list on Monday.

The catcher welcomed a son named Luke Devin Mesoraco on Sunday night. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 8 oz.

Mesoraco has played in just 52 games this season and has hit just .219 with six homers and 14 RBI.

To take his spot on the roster, the team has recalled from Class AAA Louisville RHP Austin Brice. In 19 appearances covering 28 2/3 innings with the major league team this season, Brice has no record with a 5.65 ERA.
