Sportsbook makes Xavier a longer shot than UC to win NCAA Tournament

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Even though the Xavier Musketeers are are one of the four No. 1 seeds in this year's NCAA Tournament there are eight teams that have been given shorter odds to win the national championship, according to the online sportsbook Bovada.lv-- and the University of Cincinnati is one of the eight.

Xavier, which is the No. 1 seed in the West Region, was given odds of 16-1 to win it all, while UC, which is a No. 2 seed in the South Region, was given odds of 15-1.

Virginia, which is the No. 1 seed in the South Region and No. 1 overall seed, and Villanova, which is the No. 1 seed in the East Region, are the co-favorites at 5.5-1.

Duke, which is the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, is the third choice at 7.5-1, followed by Michigan State, the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region, at 8-1, then Purdue, the No. 2 seed in the East Region at 12-1 and Kansas, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, at 14-1.

Arizona, the No. 4 seed in the South Region, is tied with UC at 15-1, while Michigan, the No. 3 seed in the West Region, is 16-1 along with Xavier.

The University of Kentucky, which is the No. 5 seed in the South Region, is 20-1, and Ohio State, which is the No. 5 seed in the West Region, is 80-1.
