Xavier's Scruggs will need season-ending surgery for torn ACL

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Dr. Robert Burger, Xavier University Athletics Team Orthopedic Surgeon, announced Tuesday that an MRI confirmed that senior Paul Scruggs suffered a torn ACL in the game vs. Florida on Sunday. Scruggs will undergo reconstructive surgery within the next two weeks.

Scruggs, who was second on the team in scoring at 11.7 ppg. and leading the team in assists at 4.1 apg. (eighth in the BIG EAST), made his mark in the Xavier record book. Scruggs finished his career 14th on XU's all-time scoring list with 1,631 points, fifth on XU's all-time assist list with 510 and tied for seventh on the all-time steals list with 178. He played in a school-record 151 games, starting 117 times.
