Karaline Cohen joined the Local 12 team in January 2023.
Karaline was ten years old when she first told her parents she wanted to be a meteorologist. Karaline is from Highland Park, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
While working full-time as a reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado, Karaline pursued a Meteorology degree from Mississippi State University. However, she is no stranger to Ohio. After Colorado, she worked in Toledo and was most recently at WSYX in Columbus. Karaline has covered everything from severe weather to breaking news to community events. Her favorite part of working in local news is getting involved in the community and helping people prepare for the weather coming their way.
Last fall, Karaline got engaged and will get married in July of 2023. Her fiancé, Ben, was born and raised in Wilmington, Ohio, and is thrilled to be back in Southern Ohio! Karaline & Ben have an adorable dog, Otto, with whom they love to explore.
When she's not working, Karaline enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and cooking.
